The Ski~Mojo from a women’s perspective

Alexandra, Ski Instructor in Val d’Isère

Alexandra is a ski instructor in Val d’Isère. She had been suffering from knee pain for several years, but being too young, she was not eligible for knee replacement surgery. Not without apprehension, she finally decided to try the Ski~Mojo. And clearly, it was a very pleasant surprise!

Marie-Pierre Gatel, physiotherapist and downhill racer for the French team, tried and adopted the Ski~Mojo

Marie-Pierre skied a run she had done a few days earlier, but this time with the Ski~Mojo. And clearly, it’s not the same experience anymore. “I can finally put pressure on my legs like before!”

Patricia (physiotherapist) explains to us why she switched to the Ski~Mojo

Initially a little jealous of her husband, who was already equipped, Patricia converted to the Ski~Mojo because it brings more safety but above all more pleasure to really enjoy her week’s skiing. And thanks to Ski~Mojo, Patricia will be able to continue skiing with her children!

Marie-Claude thought she’d have to give up skiing …

Due to severe knee pain, Marie-Claude was about to give up skiing. After trying the Ski-Mojo, she changed her mind!

When young female skiers discover Ski~Mojo, here’s what they have to say:

Ophélie and Andrea discover Ski~Mojo in Saas Fee. It was a huge surprise for these two young women. Although they had no physical problems, they found that Ski~Mojo helped them to ski better and enjoy themselves even more. AMAZING!

Chemmy Alcott

With 4 Winter Olympic Games under her belt, Chemmy Alcott is Britain’s most successful ski racer. She is also a big fan of the Ski~Mojo.

She told us how the Ski~Mojo helped her on the road to recovery after severe knee injuries:

I suffered a serious ACL tear followed by an operation that didn’t solve all my issues, which significantly impacted my new coaching role. I needed to find a solution, particularly something to relieve my knees, and especially to avoid painkillers or anti-inflammatories. Being demanding, I also wanted this solution to help me perform better and for longer on the slopes. The Ski~Mojo, which is easy to use, really ticked all the boxes”.

In the end, the Ski~Mojo has made me even more efficient! It helps me carve turns by actively pushing my hip up and forward during transitions. It’s also a great tool for training and teaching”.

But the Ski~Mojo is suitable for all skiing levels. My mother-in-law has been using the SkiMojo for the last ten years after many doctors told her that her skiing life was over. She wanted to prove them wrong, and that’s why she invested in the Ski~Mojo”.

Heidi Zurbriggen, Ski Instructor in the Saas Fee Valley

Heidi is a Swiss skier, double silver medalist at the Alpine Skiing World Championships and winner of three World Cup downhill races.

After ending her professional career, Heidi turned to teaching, but like many former high-level athletes, her knees caused her pain all day long. Thanks to the Ski~Mojo, Heidi can now ski all day without pain or limitations.

Ingrid, 5’45” of uninterrupted skiing, 195 turns. Without Ski~Mojo, such a descent would not have been possible.

Ski~Mojo doesn’t make you ski faster. It does, however, allow you to ski much longer. And because fatigue comes later, Ingrid maintains optimum control of her trajectories, from start to finish.

And who could guess that a Ski~Mojo is hidden under Ingrid’s pants?

PHYSICS EXO!

AT AUSTIN POWERS, MOJO IS A CLEVER BLEND OF LUCK, CHARM AND SEXUAL VIGOR THAT MEANS NOTHING CAN STAND IN HIS WAY, DIFFICULT MISSIONS OR WOMEN. BUT WHAT DOES MOJO MEAN WHEN APPLIED TO SKIING? THE ABILITY TO SWALLOW THE FACE OF BELLEVARDE OR THE SWISS WALL WHILE REMAINING INCREDIBLY SEXY? IT’S ALMOST LIKE THAT.
The Ski-Mojo, I’m told, is an exoskeleton. At this word, I change Austin from Powers to Steve, the one worth 3 billion, and already imagine myself hurtling down the slopes at full speed – looking like I’m in slow motion – with the sound of a metallic boomerang. But I’m taken back: Steve Austin is a bionic man, transformed from the inside out; an exo-skeleton, on the other hand, is an external structure, attached to one or more limbs of the human body, which enables it to regain mobility or increase its capabilities. The concept has mainly been developed in the military and industrial fields, or in connection with motor disabilities, but in this version adapted to the world of sliding, it’s for you and me, who are neither warriors nor handymen, and still in good working order.

POSITIONING STATEMENT

So I set off to test it in real-life conditions in Avoriaz, with Jean-Marc Glaude, the Mojo-master. He starts by attaching temporary supports to my ski boots – the day I get my own exo-skeleton, he’ll screw them on for good. I then slip into what looks like a harness, attached at pelvis level. Between the two, Jean-Marc installs the famous skeleton on the side of each leg – the model for those under 75kg, there’s another one for the strongest – which consists of two neoprene-covered tubes articulated around a large spring. Once engaged, it should relieve me of 1/3 of my weight, absorb shocks and limit any pain in my back, hips and knees. I wear it over my spindle, but it could just as easily be slipped under a pair of pants. A few more size adjustments and I’m ready to go!

CASE STUDY

I immediately feel like shifting my body weight backwards, to better feel the effects of the equipment. Unless I want to let my spatulas live their own life, this is obviously a bad idea. But once they’re back in place, it’s hard to see the benefits in the first few turns. Until the middle of the3rd descent, when, having got used to my shell, the Mojo-master asks me to disengage the system. Each of my legs now feels like it weighs 10 tons, and my buttocks double that! Gone is the feeling of lightness, back to gravity. This was even more obvious at the end of the test: in fine autumn form for this restart, after 6 runs at full throttle, my legs were barely tired. But on the way back, relieved of the exo, I had to stop every third turn to re-oxygenate my thighs, which were literally burning from the inside out. With my tongue hanging out and my cheeks flushed crimson, there’s nothing sexy about me anymore… I want my mojo back!
